Redbud Trail to Wilson Valley Hike

The Redbud Trail to Cache Creek is a terrific hike.  Some up, some down, but nothing too strenuous. The trail winds up to the top of the ridge, where you get a fabulous view of Cache Creek.  Once you reach Baton Flat, the trail crosses the creek and heads to Wilson valley.  Wilson Valley is a remote valley that is home to a sub-herd of Tule Elk. The trail is gorgeous, winding through a variety of ecosystems – blue oak woodland, chaparral, riparian, open meadow.

Difficulty: Moderate

Length: 14.4 miles round trip to the end of Wilson Valley (Approx 12.75 miles to start of Wilson Valley)

Terrain/Exposure: The trail climbs and descends frequently through chaparral and open meadows (some oak woodland).
