The Big Day of Giving 2018

Tuleyome Teaches

For 2018's Big Day of Giving, Tuleyome is focusing on the educational aspects of what we do. Nearly every Tuleyome project or program has an educational component to it. Educating the public about plants, wildlife, watershed and ecosystems helps to instill in the public consciousness a "connectedness" to nature, and an understanding of why conservation is such an important facet of all of our lives.

Tuleyome Teaches

  • through our "Home Place Adventures" interpretive hikes, walks, camping trips and outings...
  • through our restoration and trail building events...
  • though our "Nature and You" lecture series, provided in partnership with the Yolo County Library system...
  • through our Certified California Naturalist program, in partnership with the University of California and the Woodland Public Library...
  • through our youth outings done in partnership with local schools and the Conaway Preservation Group...
  • through our book series available through Lulu.com...
  • through our "nourishing hikes"...
  • through our nature-based "Tuleyome Tales" newspaper column...
  • through our art/nature fusion workshops...
  • through our work to establish a new nature and science center in Woodland, in partnership with the City of Woodland and Explorit...
  • and through our continued advocacy to protect the Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument.

Knowledge is a legacy that lasts forever. Help us to expand our projects and programs, and all of the educational benefits they provide to the public.
